On Saturday, a number of dogs took to the waves at a beach in Pacifica, Calif., and not only impressed with their ability to ride surf boards, but did so in front of hundreds of spectators during the 2022 World Dog Surfing Championships.

You gotta see it to believe it.

There were six categories in all, including the Dr. Treat Small Dog Category; Pet Renu Medium Dog Category; Rockaway Ricky Memorial/Lommori-Stahl Group Large/XL Dog Category; White Claw Dog/Dog Tandem Category; Human/Dog Tandem category and Top Dog Final Overall Champs Category.

According to the attached video, which features the Rockaway Ricky Memorial/Lommori-Stahl Group Large/XL Dog Category, scores are calculated on technique, length of the route covered and the size of the waves.

Faith, which captured the Large/XL Dog Category, also placed second in the Top Dog Final Overall Champs category. Interestingly, Faith is a rescue dog when she’s not surfing.
