Oakley‘s new semi-rimless Hydra sunglasses are the latest model to feature in its growing collection of retro-inspired sunnies.

The Hydra is based on the classic Razor Blade, and even features the original Oakley B1B logo on the temples for a retro touch.

The new sunglasses feature Prizm lenses, which are claimed to improve colour and contrast. They also feature a grippy rubber nose pad and multiple fit options.

The Hydra line-up is dominated by bold and bright colours, with a tennis ball yellow frame matched with a ruby lens, a neon orange frame contrasted with a sapphire lens, and a semi-transparent arctic surf frame with a complementary sapphire lens.

There are three more understated designs, too: black frames with either violet or black lens, or a classy tortoiseshell rootbeer frame paired with a tan ‘tungsten’ lens.

While this new model is not cycling-specific, we’re sure we’ll be seeing plenty of these at the trailhead and on the roads soon.

The new Oakley Hydra sunglasses will be available direct from Oakley and in retailers from Thursday 6th October, and retail at £144 / €160 / $173 / $225 AUS.
