WORTHINGTON — With Worthington’s Windsurfing Regatta and Music Festival just one month away, the T-shirts are in and available for purchase, but if you want one, you’ll want to buy it early.

This year, the Regatta’s board of directors has selected two T-shirt designs — one that reads “Ya Gotta Regatta” and another that resembles Yin and Yang with lake waves meeting the sunshine and featuring Worthington Windsurfing Regatta and Music Festival wording.

Regatta Board President Josh Miller said the goal is to sell as many shirts as possible in advance of the festival.

“We are trying to get people to wear the Ya Gotta Regatta shirts on the Friday of the Regatta,” Miller said, adding that board members will be reaching out to local businesses and encouraging them to buy shirts in bulk for their employees. Doing so will result in a bulk-buy discount.

Both shirts were designed by Jessica Pass, graphic designer and graphics department manager for The Globe.

“She’s always done a good job when we’ve asked her to do it,” Miller said.

T-shirts are available for purchase at the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce, 1121 Third Ave., in downtown Worthington, and at Classy & Sassy Boutique, 1425 McMillan St. Any that remain will be available for purchase during the Regatta, set for June 10-11, on Sailboard Beach.

Proceeds from the T-shirt sales are used to help cover miscellaneous expenses during the Regatta and music festival.

“It really comes together with the sponsors, beverage sales and the shirts,” Miller said. “We’ve had some overwhelming support through sponsorships and people wanting to help out.

“Everything we sell is part of keeping this event going,” he added.

Miller has served on the Regatta’s board of directors for 11 years, and was elected its president in 2017.
